Either my brother or my father–each blames the other–messed with my stocking holders on Christmas Day. It’s actually a family tradition to do such things, though my mother’s knickknacks are usually the “victims.”
Every year right before Halloween, my parents host a cupcake decorating party for the grandchildren. This year we grown up kids got in on the action, too. 🙂

My youngest dyed eggs while my oldest skipped it this year, claiming he was too old. 😦 😦
This is all the baking I did this holiday season due to our moving one week before Christmas Day, but these festive chocolate chip cookies came out well, so I am glad. 🙂

I think the best part of our low key, laid back Independence Day was the patriotic dessert coupled with several rounds of Yahtzee.
